In the past six weeks, I've had the joy and privilege to introduce you to 41 families, collected dozens of bags of groceries and $1858 for the Food Bank of North Carolina. Thank you for opening your yards to me and for your candor and enthusiasm for this project.
Thanks to all of you who have visited the blog and sent thank you notes. For those of you who did not participate in a session, here's how they were structured. A quick wave to say hello, collection of donation, gather the troops and make a video greeting. From there, we find a nice place in the yard for some family photos and photograph favorite play activities or areas. With only 20 minutes, these sessions are truly time capsules of each family.
I look forward to seeing you at the food truck, walking and biking through our beautiful neighborhood and hopefully the pool this summer. If you are between 18 and 60, are in good health and can spare the time, please join me at the Food Bank. It is easy to register and sign up for volunteer shifts, and they need manpower to prepare the donations for distribution.
Meet the Woodburns
Lee & Steve and their children, Meg and Henry have been living on Brookfield for about 17 years. They are grateful for being able to work from home and taking regular walks with their dog Reese.
The Tom & Nikki Hessler have been living on Bennington for about 8 years with their children Jessi, Jake and Noah. During this stay at home time, they've been building a trail through the neighborhood that starts on Carrington as well as enjoying more walks and bike rides as a family.
